Barbour Christmas Advert 2026: Wallace & Gromit Return

Barbour has reunited with Aardman for its 2026 Christmas film, which follows Wallace & Gromit on a traditional British Christmas walk as Wallace puts his latest invention, the Walk-o-matic, to the test in the snowy countryside.

Directed by Steve Harding-Hill and made in Aardman’s stop-motion style, the film follows last year’s Wallace & Gromit collaboration. Tartan again plays a central role, with Barbour’s Original and Authentic Tartans used in the characters’ accessories to reflect the Barbour family’s Scottish roots, while the British countryside provides the backdrop.

The film opens with Gromit preparing for Christmas at home before Wallace presents him with a Barbour Sylkoil Wax Dog Coat “for walkies!”. The pair then set out with the Walk-o-matic, which combines Wallace’s living room armchair with oversized wheels made from Barbour Nimbus Chelsea Welly Boots and is designed to let him enjoy a walk without taking a step. When the invention malfunctions and catapults Wallace into the snow, Gromit hands over his own present, a Barbour Cotton Half Knit Zipped Jumper wrapped in tartan. Shaun the Sheep and his flock make cameo appearances, and the film closes with the message “Warm Wishes from Barbour.”

As part of the campaign, Barbour has again produced a limited-edition run of Re-loved wax jackets inspired by Wallace & Gromit, with all proceeds going to Oxfam, and has added Re-loved scarves and dog coats to the collection for the first time. A limited-edition capsule of accessories, including knitted scarves, hats, caps, tote bags, key fobs and a dog coat, will be available from December on Barbour.com and in selected stores.

The film arrives in Aardman’s 50th anniversary year, which also includes the release of Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom. Barbour has made tartan a recurring theme this year, including its Tartan Reimagined exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery during London Fashion Week.
