Footwear brand PANE has opened its first European pop-up at Le Bon Marché in Paris, a residency on the department store’s second floor that runs until 2 January 2027 and marks the global launch of its new Dyno collection.
The pop-up opened on 29 October and is PANE’s first physical retail space in Europe. It is also the opening chapter of PLOOS, the brand’s global city cultural initiative. Under the theme Le PANE du Jour, a play on the French phrase “le pain du jour”, or bread of the day, the Paris chapter takes bread as its starting point to explore the relationships between people, places, food and daily rituals in the city.

Through PLOOS, PANE plans a temporary residency in each new city, working with local creatives and communities through interviews, conversations, collaborations and exhibitions rather than repeating the story of a previous destination. For Paris, the brand invited four local creatives to take part in a series of conversations and activations, combining personal interviews and visual storytelling drawn from the neighbourhoods and everyday settings they know.

From Nature to City
The space is designed around the concept From Nature to City, with a continuous arrangement of modular display structures that combine stone, glass, wood, metal and brass. Footwear is shown on structures of varying heights and proportions, creating a layered landscape that echoes the silhouettes of urban architecture and moves from the raw character of natural materials towards the more ordered feel of the city. The approach reflects PANE’s design language, which draws on timeless classics adapted for contemporary city life.

The Dyno collection
The pop-up is the global launch venue for Dyno, a new collection that expands PANE’s footwear range and, according to the brand, takes it beyond the niche fashion segment into territory where fashion meets sport. Inspired by professional bouldering gear and reworked for everyday city wear, the low-profile lifestyle trainers keep a sleek grip contour and supportive structure while dialling back overtly sporty features, and are designed for commuting, walking and casual dressing.

Events across Paris
The opening followed a series of events across the city. From 1 to 22 October, PANE hosted an installation at the bookstore and café Off Campus, with an evening on 2 October that featured a talk and open Q&A on identity and inequality led by author and ARTE documentary director Nesrine Slaoui, ceramics shown on site by Sofia de Moser Leitão and a menu curated by Top Chef winner Jorick Dorignac.
On 22 October, the brand held a dinner at Sugaar for friends and creative partners, including models Lulu Tenney and Debra Shaw, followed by a live performance from Beesau and a DJ set by Andy4000. The programme closed with a takeover of Cortado Bakery from 27 October to 2 November, where community figures including Amina Ktefan, Elsa Danielson and Dan Vedmediuc came together under the brand’s guiding philosophy, ‘Behave as Mortals’.

The PANE pop-up is open on the second floor of Le Bon Marché until 2 January 2027 and is listed in the 365 Retail pop-ups and brand activations calendar.
