The British Fashion Council (BFC), a pivotal organization in promoting British fashion, is set to host The Fashion Awards 2023 at the iconic Royal Albert Hall on Monday, 4th December 2023. This prestigious event, presented by Pandora, will feature British broadcaster Maya Jama and musician Kojey Radical as hosts. The Red Carpet LIVE, served by smartwater, will be hosted by the renowned American image architect Law Roach and fashion commentator Julia Hobbs.

Founded in 1983, the BFC has been instrumental in fostering the sustainable growth of British fashion in the global economy. It organizes biannual womenswear and menswear showcases, including London Fashion Week (LFW) and London Fashion Week Men’s (LFWM), to promote the best of British design internationally. Prior to its establishment, various organizations promoted different aspects of British fashion, including the Incorporated Society of London Fashion Designers and the Fashion House Group of London.

Maya Jama has become a household name in the UK, known for hosting culturally influential television programmes and radio shows. Her success extends beyond broadcasting to entrepreneurship, and she has been a steadfast supporter of British fashion, appearing in luxury brand campaigns and on magazine covers such as British Vogue. Kojey Radical, a leading figure in underground Black music, is recognized for his artistic versatility and has successfully blurred the lines between music, fashion, art, and film.

Caroline Rush, Chief Executive of the BFC, expressed her excitement about the hosting choices, emphasizing the influence of Maya and Kojey in their respective industries and how they represent the intersection of fashion and culture. This year’s Fashion Awards aims to celebrate British creativity and leadership in the fashion industry.

Law Roach, named The Hollywood Reporter’s Most Powerful Stylist in 2021 and 2022, will bring his expertise to the Red Carpet LIVE, engaging in live conversations with pioneers from fashion, music, and entertainment. Julia Hobbs will accompany him, bringing her spirited approach to fashion commentary.

The Fashion Awards Red Carpet LIVE will be broadcast from 6:30 pm GMT on BFC’s social channels, including YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. This event serves as a principal fundraiser for the BFC Foundation, supporting the pipeline of creative talent in the fashion industry.

This year’s event is supported by various partners, including Don Julio, Getty Images, Moët & Chandon, Royal Salute, smartwater, and The Peninsula London. These collaborations underscore the importance of community and corporate support in fostering the growth of the fashion industry.
