Stone Island has introduced the Spring_Summer ’026 collection, marking the next chapter of its ongoing “Community as a Form of Research” project. The initiative continues the brand’s exploration of dialogue between Stone Island and its global community, shaped by shared interests in research, experimentation and innovation.

The SS ’026 campaign brings together a diverse group of cultural figures, portrayed in intimate, studio-based portraits that combine individual identity with Stone Island product. The imagery reflects the brand’s LAB + LIFE philosophy, positioning garments within real-world creative and professional contexts.

Campaign participants

The campaign opens with musicians Joe James and Mike Skinner, before expanding to include former footballer Paolo Maldini, professional mixed martial artist Chito Vera, artist and designer Garance Vallée, and loudspeaker designer Shivas.

As the season develops, Serpentine Galleries artistic director Hans Ulrich Obrist—who has shaped the project’s interview questions since its launch—appears within the campaign. Subsequent portraits feature actor Cha Seung-won, Latin Grammy Award-winning artist and songwriter Feid, artist, producer and label founder A. G. Cook, actor Charlie Hunnam and DJ YUVIE.

Creative direction and imagery

The campaign was photographed by David Sims and styled by Max Pearmain, under the creative direction of Ferdinando Verderi. Set against Stone Island’s signature white backdrop, each portrait is paired with a series of questions assembled by Hans Ulrich Obrist.

Collection highlights

Featured garments from the collection include a textured leather hooded jacket worn by Chito Vera, a bonded linen field jacket from the Stone Island Ghost range worn by Paolo Maldini, and quilted cotton nylon outerwear worn by Garance Vallée. Additional looks highlight resin-treated cotton ripstop and double-coated finishes, reinforcing the brand’s continued focus on material research and garment dyeing.

Founded in Italy in 1982, Stone Island is known for its emphasis on fabric innovation, functionality and utilitarian design. The SS ’026 campaign continues the brand’s long-standing approach to community-driven research, placing product development within a wider cultural and creative framework.
