Scamp & Dude is to open its first permanent store in the North this October, taking a prominent corner unit on James Street in Harrogate as the British fashion brand continues to expand its physical retail presence.
The store at 2-3 James Street will span more than 2,100 sq ft across two floors and sit directly opposite Harrogate railway station. It will carry Scamp & Dude’s full womenswear collection and introduce the brand’s community-led retail format to Yorkshire.

The opening comes during Scamp & Dude’s tenth anniversary year and follows more than three years spent looking for a suitable Harrogate location.
Bolt Room At Heart Of New Store
A central feature will be Scamp & Dude’s signature Bolt Room, a large private fitting-room space that customers will be able to book in advance to try on collections together.
The room is designed for group visits, with complimentary refreshments forming part of the experience. The wider store will also host a year-round programme of events and activations.
Harrogate provides the retailer with a well-established shopping and tourism destination, while the James Street position gives the store visibility close to the railway station. The town has direct rail connections with London, Leeds, York and Edinburgh.
Building The Physical Store Network
The Harrogate location will join Scamp & Dude’s stores in Marlow, Battersea Power Station and Brighton.
The retailer’s earlier physical expansion has also included a store at Cambridge’s Grand Arcade, announced in 2024 as part of the brand’s development of community-focused physical locations.
Harrogate itself has continued to attract fashion and lifestyle retailers. Nobody’s Child lists Harrogate among its standalone boutique locations, alongside its wider UK store estate.
Scamp & Dude says Alison Hammond, Kate Lawler and Davina McCall are among the celebrity fans of the brand.
Founded by Jo Tutchener Sharp in 2016, Scamp & Dude is a certified B Corp and combines its fashion business with a programme of charitable giving. The company says it has now made more than £4.4 million in cash and product donations.
Its Super Scarf Mission operates on a one-for-one model, with a scarf donated to a woman starting chemotherapy for every qualifying scarf purchased. More than 93,000 Super Scarves have been donated to date.
The business has also donated more than 10,000 Superhero Sleep Buddies to children who have lost a parent or are seriously ill themselves.
The Harrogate store is scheduled to open at 2-3 James Street in October 2026.
