Lakeside Welcomes Four Major Fashion and Lifestyle Stores

Lakeside, owned and operated by SGS UK Retail, has welcomed Bershka, Hollister, Oliver Bonas and Urban Outfitters, adding 29,000 sq ft of fashion and lifestyle retail space to the Thurrock destination.

The openings expand the contemporary fashion and lifestyle offer at Lakeside as the centre responds to demand from its visitor base.

Four New Stores Join Lakeside

Inditex-owned Bershka has opened a 12,500 sq ft store on Level 2, bringing its womenswear, menswear and accessories ranges to the centre. The opening adds to the destination’s offer for Gen Z and Millennial shoppers and increases the presence of contemporary fashion at Lakeside.

Located next to Bershka, Hollister has opened a 6,000 sq ft store carrying apparel, accessories and fragrance. Its offer includes casualwear alongside sportswear and swimwear collections. Lakeside records annual footfall of more than 17 million visitors.

On Level 1, Urban Outfitters has opened a 6,500 sq ft store, bringing its mix of fashion, lifestyle and culture to the centre. The Urban Outfitters store forms part of the destination’s expanding lifestyle offer.

Oliver Bonas has also opened on Level 1, taking a 4,000 sq ft store. The independent British lifestyle retailer adds fashion, lifestyle products and gifting to the lower level, presented through its colourful, design-led aesthetic.

Together, the four stores broaden the retail offer serving Lakeside’s catchment of 8.5 million people within a one-hour drive.

Investment Continues at Lakeside

The openings follow more than £100 million of investment by retail occupiers at Lakeside over the past three years.

Further activity is scheduled later this year with the opening of Lefties. Its arrival will make Lakeside home to five of Inditex’s eight brands, alongside Zara, Pull&Bear, Bershka and Stradivarius.

By the end of the year, Inditex brands will collectively occupy more than 125,000 sq ft at the centre.

Smith Young and LM are Lakeside’s retail leasing agents, while Metis and LM lead leisure leasing. Pradera asset manages Lakeside on behalf of SGS UK Retail.

Inditex represented itself on the Bershka transaction. McDevitt acted for Urban Outfitters, Colliers represented Oliver Bonas and Hollister represented itself.
