Searches for adidas Samba Jane have increased by 275% over the past month, according to new data from JD Sports, as interest in ballet-inspired footwear continues to build in the UK.

JD Sports reports that searches for the adidas Samba Jane collection have risen sharply over the past month. The footwear style is adidas’ contribution to the ballet flats trend, combining elements of the Mary Jane and ballet flat with the profile of the adidas Samba.

The trend draws on early 2010s references and has recently gained wider visibility, with figures including Hailey Bieber, Kendall Jenner and Harry Styles seen wearing sneakerina styles in recent months.

JD Sports said the pattern reflects a broader cultural shift towards slimmer, more playful styles for spring 2026. Similar search trends have been recorded around lacey adidas Spezials, recent Molly-Mae collaborations, PUMA Speedcat and animal prints.

The retailer also noted demand for simple monochrome colourways. Searches for “Samba Janes Black” increased by 1,171% month on month, as shoppers respond to the emerging trend.

Menswear Interest Builds

The trend has also moved into menswear. Harry Styles wore the style in his recent video for “Aperture”, while Bad Bunny, who has collaborated with adidas on his own variants of the trend, has been photographed wearing flats at red-carpet appearances.

What To Know About adidas Samba Jane

The adidas Samba Jane combines the Mary Jane ballet flat, a style familiar to many from school footwear, with the adidas Samba, part of the wider adidas terrace category. The result sits between the growing sneakerina trend and the continued appeal of terrace-inspired footwear.

Retailing at £80 for women, the shoe is positioned as a practical option for shoppers looking to adopt the sneakerina aesthetic while retaining comfort for summer wear.

The Samba Jane features a soft leather upper, gum soles, a classic T-toe and a middle strap. It is available at JD Sports in off-white, silver and black, with each version finished with the adidas trefoil logo and three stripes.

The adidas Samba Jane is available through JD Sports.
