Footasylum has opened an upsized store at Manchester Arndale, marking a significant investment in its home city.
The refurbished 18,000 sq ft unit, located on the ground floor of Exchange Court, will create 14 new jobs and introduce an updated retail format designed to deliver a more immersive in-store experience. The expansion forms part of the brand’s wider strategy to enhance its presence in high-footfall locations, including Manchester Arndale.

As part of the upsizing, Footasylum has secured a new 20-year lease, underlining its long-term commitment to one of the UK’s busiest retail destinations. The enlarged footprint builds on strong trading performance across its Manchester locations, including stores at Arndale and the Trafford Centre.

To mark the opening, the store will host a programme of community-led activations, including appearances from local DJs and brand partnerships with Slim Chickens, Crep Protect and adidas, alongside Footasylum influencers.

The store offers a curated selection of third-party brands including Nike, ASICS, Hoka, Saucony and Berghaus, alongside Footasylum’s own labels such as Monterrain, Forena and Epic Kid.

Alongside its UK expansion, Footasylum is progressing its international growth strategy. In late 2025, the business signed a distribution agreement with MAD Agency covering Germany, Austria and Switzerland, followed by a partnership with Apparel Group to launch stores across the Gulf Cooperation Council region, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman.

The opening reflects Footasylum’s continued investment in physical retail as part of its broader omnichannel strategy.
