Footasylum has opened a new flagship store at Trinity Leeds, creating 19 jobs and strengthening its presence in the city.

The 12,471 sq ft store opened on Saturday 20 June 2026 and is located on the lower ground floor of Trinity Leeds, opposite Mango, in the unit previously occupied by Superdry.

The opening follows the success of Footasylum’s pop-up at Trinity Leeds and its former store at The Core shopping centre. It forms part of the retailer’s wider UK expansion strategy, which is focused on high-footfall, high-performing destinations.

Trinity Leeds is the city’s largest shopping and leisure destination, with more than 120 shops, cafés, bars and restaurants, as well as an Everyman cinema. Recent Footasylum store openings have included Manchester Arndale, Glasgow Silverburn and Darlington Cornmill.

Brand Mix And Launch Activity

The new store carries Footasylum’s own brand offer alongside third-party names including Nike, adidas Originals, ASICS and Saucony. Its exclusive labels include Monterrain, Forena and Epic Kid.

Launch-day activity included goody bags for the first 200 visitors, with products and prizes including a year’s gym membership, a gaming bundle with a PlayStation 5, Deliveroo vouchers and a year’s supply of trainers.

Footasylum also planned a programme of in-store events with local businesses and Leeds-based DJs. Danny Aarons, a star of season four of Footasylum’s YouTube reality series LockedIn, attended the opening to play FIFA with customers in store.

Wider Growth Strategy

The launch comes as Footasylum continues to progress its broader growth strategy. Recent developments include the appointment of Hannah Mercer as Chief Executive Officer, international expansion across the DACH and Gulf regions, increased HSBC UK funding to support its store rollout programme and expanded warehousing capacity, and a strategic partnership with British streetwear brand Trapstar.

“Leeds has always been a city that sets its own pace and style, and this new flagship is about matching that energy. We’re not just opening a store, we’re creating a space that reflects how our Leeds customers shop, move and express themselves. Openings like this play a key role in our growth strategy, strengthening our presence in high-performing locations while giving us a platform to bring our omnichannel vision to life.”

Shannon Osman, Retail Director at Footasylum

Footasylum was founded in 2005 and is headquartered in Rochdale. The business operates more than 65 stores in the UK and employs around 2,500 staff.
