Grosvenor has unveiled plans for Zara, the renowned global fashion brand, to significantly enlarge its flagship store within Liverpool ONE. Owned by Inditex, Zara is gearing up for a comprehensive refurbishment and expansion project. The initiative will culminate in the launch of a revamped 42,000 square feet store later in the year. This development is a clear indicator of Zara’s commitment to Liverpool ONE, underlining the location’s continuing allure to premier brands and its status as a primary fashion destination in the North and across the UK.

The expansion will see Zara’s premises on South John Street increase from 27,200 square feet to 42,000 square feet. This expansion will accommodate an enhanced range of Zara’s menswear, womenswear, and kidswear collections. Additionally, the new layout will integrate Zara’s cutting-edge technologies, including self-service zones and online collection points, ensuring a streamlined shopping journey for patrons.

ZARA upsizes at Liverpool One

Rob Deacon, Grosvenor’s Director of Asset Management, commented on the expansion: “Zara choosing to increase their investment in Liverpool ONE is a testament to the location’s reputation as a destination for flagships. As one of Liverpool ONE’s leading retailers, we have no doubt that the upsized anchor store will only serve to strengthen Zara’s sustained demand and loyal customer base in Liverpool.”

This strategic enlargement of Zara’s store is part of a broader trend of leading brands committing further to Liverpool ONE. The list includes international names like BOSS, Hollister, and Goldsmiths, highlighting Liverpool ONE’s attractiveness to diverse retailers. Zara’s latest move increases the overall trading area of Inditex-owned brands within the complex to an impressive 68,000 square feet. This marks a continued investment by the global retail conglomerate in Liverpool ONE, following the introduction of Bershka and Stradivarius, as well as the expansion of Pull&Bear, further cementing its investment in the area.
