UNIQLO, the Japanese fashion retailer known for its minimalist designs and quality craftsmanship, is preparing to make its Liverpool debut with a 25,000-square-foot flagship store at Liverpool ONE. Set to open in early 2025 on Paradise Street, the store will join a roster of major retailers in Liverpool ONE’s prime shopping area, including BOSS, JD, and Goldsmiths. The arrival of UNIQLO reinforces Liverpool ONE’s position as a destination for high-performing international brands.
The new UNIQLO Liverpool store is designed to be a standout space, utilising a substantial double-height unit to create a signature retail experience. In line with UNIQLO’s considered store layout, the Liverpool ONE location will feature its full range of womenswear, menswear, and kidswear, along with its popular line of bags and accessories. Key features will include self-service checkouts, dedicated collection points, and in-store clothing repair and recycling services to support UNIQLO’s focus on sustainability and longevity in fashion.
Alessandro Dudech, COO of UNIQLO UK, commented, “As UNIQLO continues to expand across the UK, we are dedicated to selecting the best locations to be the home of our brand. Investing in Liverpool, a leading UK shopping destination, was a natural next step, and Liverpool ONE was the obvious choice, given the unique opportunity to open a prominent, showstopping space on Paradise Street. We’re excited to continue to open in new cities and introduce our Lifewear to the people of Liverpool for the first time, we look forward to connecting with our customers next year.”
The announcement follows news that global beauty brand Sephora and TFG London’s largest multi-brand flagship store, housing Hobbs, Phase Eight, Whistles, and Inside Story, will also be joining Liverpool ONE. Sephora’s new 7,500-square-foot space will be located at a key entrance to South John Street, while TFG’s 12,000-square-foot flagship store will also open on South John Street, enhancing the retail mix at Liverpool ONE.
Liverpool ONE’s Director of Asset Management, Rob Deacon, remarked on the addition, saying, “UNIQLO is yet another international fashion powerhouse taking a showcase space on Liverpool ONE’s Paradise Street. Creating a bold, compelling hub of best-in-class international brands has long been our strategy, playing to the needs and wants of our diverse mix of domestic and international visitors, and we’re thrilled to be welcoming UNIQLO to Liverpool for the first time.”
Metis and CBRE represented Liverpool ONE in the agreement, while Paddy McCormack & Co. acted for UNIQLO.
